Saturday meets or "A" meets are dual meets where two teams compete in 50 events including freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke, butterfly, and individual medley (a mix of the first four strokes). The dual meet also includes boys and girls medley and freestyle relays. At most, a swimmer is allowed to swim in three individual events, plus the Individual Medley and one relay event.

The “Summer Stroker” meets, also called Wednesday meets or “B” meets give all swimmers a chance to compete, establish seeding times for Divisional Meets, and help prepare the team for Saturday Divisional meets. The Summer Stroker meet events proceed in the same order as the Division meets except no relay events are swum.

Each Division has a relay meet where all 6 teams compete in 22 different relay events. Some relays are age group and gender specific, others are mixed gender and age group.

  • Mixed relay: 2 boys and 2 girls from that age group swim that specific relay.
  • Graduated relays: One member from each age group swims in the relay i.e 14 and under graduated relay means one person from each age group 14 and under swims a different leg of the relay. Graduated freestyle relays are the relays swum at the end of each Saturday meet.
  • Medley relay: relay that goes in the order back, breast, fly, free where each stroke is swum equally (200 medley= 50 of each stroke in that order) Note: the Graduated Medley's are swum in the same stroke order, but there is no age order; meaning that you need one person from each age group to swim, but one team could choose to have their 8 & under swim back but another team could put a 13-14 there.
  • Crescendo: One person from each age group swims a leg of free. The legs go 25/50/100/50/ 25 and the age group order goes 8&U/11-12/15- 18/13-14/ 9-10.
The Coaches Invitational Longcourse meet is the half way all-star meet where the top 8 swimmers in MCSL from each age group and each event compete in an olympic size pool and the events are doubled in length (i.e. instead of 8 & unders swimming a 25 free they swim a 50 free, 9-10's do a 100 free, ect).

The Tilden Woods Mini meet is specifically for 8 & unders and I would like to have all who are on pre-team do this meet if you are able. I strongly encourage all 8 & unders who are eligible to swim. Rules for Eligibility:

  1. The mini meet is for swimmers 8 years old and under.
  2. Events will be broken down by age per event; i.e. 6 & under boys, 6 & under girls, 7 year old boys, 7 year old girls, 8 year old boys, 8 year old girls.
  3. Events are IM, freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke, butterfly, and a special kickboard event (see order of events at website www.twdolphins. org under the mini meet tab
  4. Swimmers may not swim in an event if they have swum that event in a Saturday meet during this season.
  5. If a swimmer has swum 3 different strokes this season in any Saturday meet, then they can only swim IM. This does not mean 3 events in one meet, but 3 in total over the season.
  6. Each child may only swim three (3) events.
  7. There will be no DQs and all heats will get place ribbons.
  8. Each child will get a winner medal following the finish of their first event.
  9. A child must be able to swim across the pool unassisted in order to be eligible to swim a given event.
  10. Parents may not jump in the pool to assist a child. Only the coach of the child's team may jump into the pool to assist a panicking child.
